ERCIM Workshop: Digital Ethics - current state and vision in ERCIM countries

Tuesday, 26 May 2020 13:00-16:00

In the current global digitalization of all human activities and the main role in this transformation of research institutions in informatics and mathematics, ERCIM is establishing a Working Group on Digital Ethics. Its initial workshop will be held in conjunction with the ERCIM 2020 spring meetings in Heraklion, hosted by the FORTH-ICS.

The goal of this initial workshop will be
1) to share between the ERCIM institutes the current state of development of Digital Ethics in their countries including the setup of Digital Ethics committees either operational or in general and
2) to draft a roadmap of possible cooperations and actions inside and outside ERCIM to study and promote ethics of digital sciences, technologies, innovations and usages, most particularly on the topics of informatics and mathematics, relevant to the ERCIM institutes.

The workshop is open to all ERCIM members.

If you plan to contribute, please send a title and abstract to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. before 1 May 2020 and register for the meetings</>.
Questions or suggestions regarding the workshop are very welcome and should also be addressed to Claude Kirchner.

Accommodation

May is a very busy time for Heraklion so you are advised to book accommodation as soon as possible.

In order to help with your planning, a number of rooms in hotels within Heraklion City, have been blocked by CCBS GREECE, our official accommodation supplier. Hotel rooms are available in different room and price categories at special rates.

The special rates are quoted in EURO, are valid only for reservations made through CCBS and are per room per night and include Breakfast.

If by the time CCBS Greece receives your room request, the hotel you have selected is already fully booked, they will propose an alternative similar hotel in the same price range
