Three New ERCIM Working Groups Launched

ERCIM is pleased to announce the launch of three new ERCIM Working Groups, strengthening collaboration and research excellence across key strategic areas of ICT.

Inclusive Digital Futures: Developing Technology and Culture
This Working Group aims to embed inclusion, diversity and cultural awareness at the heart of digital research, education and innovation. It recognises that digital systems are not neutral, they shape societies, influence how people interact and reflect cultural values. By promoting coordinated exchange across disciplines, the group supports structural approaches to inclusion that go beyond isolated initiatives and help integrate inclusive thinking into research practices, organisational cultures and policymaking.

Artificial Intelligence & Intelligent Systems (AIIS)
Artificial Intelligence is transforming how we build software, manage infrastructures and deliver essential services across sectors such as healthcare, mobility, cybersecurity and environmental monitoring. At the same time, widespread adoption of data-driven and foundation-model technologies raises major scientific and societal challenges, including robustness, transparency, fairness, accountability and alignment with European values and regulations. The AIIS Working Group will address these issues, supporting interdisciplinary research, workshops and joint activities to ensure responsible and trustworthy AI.
