Venue and Accommodation

Munich, often referred to as the "northernmost city of Italy" because of its Mediterranean flair and hospitality, lies at the root of the Alps.  A city full of parks and stucco-decorated buildings, of museums and beer gardens, Munich has retained its charming mix of coziness and cosmopolitan flair.  The Bavarian capital is the third largest city in Germany with a population of about 1.3 million, one of top ten European airports, and the hub of a globally leading high-tech region but it has lost nothing of its traditional charm.

Munich houses several world-famous museums like the Pinakothekenken, the Glyptothek, the Bavarian National Museum, or the Deutsches Museum, one of the first scientific-technological museums in the world.  There are many baroque castles and churches to visit, a brimming cultural scene, and an exciting nightlife. In the winter months the romantic christmas market the "Christkindlmarkt" invites visitors to take a stroll through the city.

The English Garden - the world's largest municipal park - offers a piece of nature and a place to relax throughout the year, right in the heart of the city.  Those who venture beyond the confines of the city limits find the beautiful scenery of southern Germany, with its magnificent lakes and breathtaking mountain panoramas.  The alpine ski resorts and the enchanted caste of Neuschwanstein are only a short drive away.

Platzl Hotel

The Platzl Hotel - awarded 4 stars superior - represents the personal flair of Munich hospitality like no other. Located in the center of Old Town Munich, between Marienplatz, Viktualienmarkt, Alter Peter, Hofbräuhaus, and Maximilianstraße, the Platzl Hotel is the ideal starting point for any kind of venture in Munich.
