The EU-funded project TERMINET has worked on next-generation IoT across six realistic use cases, featuring software-defined networking, edge computing, virtualization, federated learning, augmented, and virtual reality interfaces. For TERMINET, ERCIM focused on standardization, as well as conducting research on moving beyond the limitations of current approaches to knowledge representation and reasoning.ERCIM considers it a high priority to develop cooperation with scientists all over the world.
ERCIM hosts the European branch of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C), the unique international standardization body which sets the Web standards and protocols (HTML, HTTP, XML, etc.) since 1994.
ERCIM and Informatics Europe have agreed to increase cooperation on activities that are relevant to both organisations.
ERCIM has also established cooperation with ETSI, the European Telecommunications Standards Institute and with the European Mathematical Society.
ERCIM is a member of the European Forum for ICST (EFICST). Its objective is to have a stronger, unified voice for ICST professionals in Europe.
ERCIM and Ideal-ist have established a cooperation to disseminate ICT partner searches with the objective to increase the participation of ERCIM member organisation in the European Unition's ICT Programme.
