The VRE4EIC project organises a workshop for Open Data sharing

The VRE4ICT project is organising a workshop entitled “Virtual Research Environments: Obtaining new insights by sharing Open Data for interdisciplinary Research Purposes”. The workshop will be held as in conjuction with CeDEM16, the international Conference for e-Democracy and Open Government, that will take place in May 2016 at the Danube University Krems, Austria.

PaaSage industrial workshop at the Automotive Simulation Center Stuttgart

In the workshop “From Cloud to Road” on 11 April 2016 at the University of Stuttgart, leading managers from automotive OEM, Independent Software Vendors and Cloud Service Platform Providers will present future challenges, and the PaaSage platform will be demonstrated.

VRE4EIC consortium supports free online Open Government course

The consortium of the VRE4EIC project intends to change the life of 70.000 European researchers, by providing them supporting tools for collaborative, multi-disciplinary data-driven science, as needed to tackle critical societal challenges such as climate change and energy sustainability. One aspect of educating and training these researchers concerns the organization of online courses.

Towards an open access policy for ERCIM

The ERCIM Expert Group "Boost Open-access Mastering" (BOM@ERCIM) has just published a report entitled "BOM@ERCIM — Towards an open access policy for ERCIM". This document provides a basis for a policy for a better communication between research performing organisations about dissemination of research results and Open Access. At the ERCIM level, the report gives a strong set of recommendations that could be implemented step by step by all ERCIM members.

HTML5Apps paves the way to future W3C payment standards and advances mobile Web standardization roadmap

29 September 2015, Sophia Antipolis: The two-year EU-funded HTML5Apps project proudly looks back to its achievements. The project, ending in September 2015 successfully accelerated the development of standard Web technologies required to make HTML5 apps competitive with native apps, specifically in the areas of Web payments and rich mobile Web APIs.

PaaSage announces first product release

Brussels, Belgium – 30 September 2015 –  PaaSage, a large scale European research project for developing an open and integrated platform to support model based lifecycle management of Cloud applications for software and service providers is proud to announce the official public release of the first version of the PaaSage product.

Zuzana Kukelova Receives the 2015 Cor Baayen Award

Zuzana Kukelova from Microsoft Research Cambridge, UK, is the winner of the 2015 Cor Baayen Award. Zuzana is a young scientist who delivered original scientific results on the border of applied mathematics and engineering, excelling in the discipline of applied and computational algebraic geometry and in geometry of computer vision.
