The project brings together two French public research agencies, three european University laboratories and five African institutions. Five of the main western and central African countries are directly involved ; the project will moreover be conducted in coordination with the executive committee of the AFRICAGIS programme of Unitar (U.N.) and with the "Observatoire du Sahara et du Sahel" (OSS).
