Ukrainian Software Specialists in GMD-TechnoPark

In the frame of the TRANSFORM programme of the German Govern-ment supporting the transformation in Central and Eastern Europe, a German-Ukrainian software project for the years 1995 and 1996 aims at strengthening the qualification of Ukrainian Software engineers by familiarizing them with German and international software quality standards and new technologies. By this it is expected to enhance the competitiveness of Ukrainian software producers by this and to open the Ukrainian software potential to the Western side.
GMD-TechnoPark at Sankt AugustinThe first qualification activity taking place at GMD was dealing with:
- software process modeling, in particular the German V-Model (Vorgehensmodell) and the tool ProcePT (Process Programming and Testing); software quality management; quality resources on the Internet
- how to build up a World Wide Web-server supporting the cooperation with Ukraine in the field of science, technology and economy.
As follow-up to the project it was proposed by the Ukrainian side to establish an Internet service containing information about investment oppor-tunities, ongoing projects, conferences etc. in Ukraine.
German project partners are GMD in conjunction with RADUGA German-Ukrainian Cooperations Ltd., Dortmund. The Ukrainian project partner is SoftRating - Ukrainian Scientific Center for State Registration and Certification Tests of Information Technologies, Kiev.
