Budapest, Hungary, 6-8 November 1995
An ERCIM Workshop on Systems and Control was held in Budapest, Hungary, November 6-8, 1995. The aim of this workshop was to stimulate scientific contacts and cooperation between researchers in systems and control of ERCIM institutes. This event was part of a series of meetings related to ERCIM activities, among other things, the ERCIM Directors' Meeting at the Computer and Automation Research Institute, Hungarian Academy of Sciences (MTA SZTAKI).
There were three invited speakers, one for each morning, overviews of the activity of various groups on Monday morning, and technical sessions devoted to a single area each morning and afternoon. The scheduled technical sessions were as follows: Linear Systems, System Identification, Stochastic Systems, Control, Control and Applications. Each afternoon session was concluded by informal discussions.
The workshop was opened by P. Inzelt, Director of MTA SZTAKI and L. Keviczky, Secretary General of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The invited talks were as follows:
V. Kucera (UTIA, Prague): Factorization approach to control systems
J. Zabczyk (Mathematical Institute, Warsaw) : Ergodicity for infinite dimensional systems
M. Deistler (Technical University, Vienna): Economic Time Series
In addition to the invited speakers, the following authors' results were presented : A. Stoorvogel, A. Gombani, A. Rantzer, J. H. van Schuppen (jointly with A. Stoorvogel), L. Baratchart, J. Bokor) and P. Florchinger.
The workshop was sponsored by ERCIM, MTA SZTAKI, the National Committee for Technological Development (OMFB) and the Hungarian Operations Research Society.
